Bereft

You have left me,
Master, mistress, rival, love,
And I wish it and un-wish it.
And beat my wings--
Plucked, pinioned, broken wings--
Against winds I cannot battle,
And long for my rusted shackles
And am heartsick for my cage,
And plummet to the ground,
And cannot bear to fly again--
No wrist I can come home to,
For you have left me,
Master, mistress, beloved, friend,
And I wish it and un-wish it.

Very nice poem. Loved the imagery. Keep working on your poems. They're a pleasure to read :)

I won't step in to a critical analysis...I'd muse to ask,who left u dear?Now that becomes silly too......I feel the pain's a'most ethereal.

@Telemacus,
Who didn't leave me, dear, that you do not know of? I'm glad that you didn't, at least.
